Sri Lanka Government to dissolve Northwestern and Central Provincial Councils

Colombo, 08 December, (Asiantribune.com): Sri Lanka Government has decided to dissolve the Northwestern and Central Provincial Councils and call for fresh elections shortly.
Asian Tribune learns that this decision was taken at a meeting President Mahinda Rajapakse had yesterday with the Governors of these two provinces .

It is also learnt that Alavi Moulana, Governor of the Western Province also participated to discuss about the Western Provincial Council.

Meanwhile our parliament sources said that the Gazette notification dissolving the North Western and Central provincial councils at 12 midnight today was handed over to the Government Printer a while ago by the office of the respective governors services.

The government has decided to dissolve the Central and Wayamba Provincial Councils tomorrow with the possibility of the Western PC also being dissolved soon, a spokesman of the government said.
