Third Sri Lankan out of Gaza

Gaza, 23 January, (Asiantribune.com): Third Sri Lankan Sinna Pillai Selvarani was taken out of Gaza on 21st January with the assistance of ICRC.

She was taken over at the Erez crossing by Mr. M.W Bandara of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Israel and was handed over to the officials of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Jordan, who were present at the Allenby Bridge crossing.

The release was coordinated by three missions in Israel, Jordan and Palestine. This evacuation was expedited after the exposure by Asian Tribune just prior to the invasion of Gaza by Israel.

Selvarani was inside Gaza unable to reach ICRC due to bombing at the time of evacuation she was in a trauma unable to express herself in any language. She will leave for Sri Lanka in the next flight available, says Dr. Mohottala the Ambassador for Sri Lanka in Jordan.

Two other Sri Lankans were taken out of Gaza during the war and one more is inside unable to leave as her employer is in Egypt and unable to enter Gaza to hand over the passport and money.
