Miranshah, 05 April, (Asiantribune.com): At least 13 people including women and children were killed in a US missile strike on Saturday in North Waziristan region in Pakistan near the Afghan border.

Three missiles were fired which hit a house in Dandey village near Mama Ziarat, Datta Khel area of North Waziristan Agency.

The strike hit the house of a school teacher, Tariq Khan killing 13 people including his family members.

Pakistani officials claim that the dead and injured included local and foreign militants, but locals say all those killed were civilians including children and women.

Saturday's strike came three days after a US missile attack on an alleged Taliban and al Qaeda training centre in Orakzai Agency, killing up to 12 militants.

US recently stepped up drone attacks in tribal areas of Pakistan accusing that the area is hotbed of al-Qaeda.

The US had so carried out more than three dozen such strikes over the past year in Pakistan near Afghan border, which have killed more than 360 people.
