17 including children killed in suicide attack in Pakistan

Miramshah, 05 April, (Asiantribune.com): At least 17 civilians including five children were killed in a suicide attempt on the security forces near an FC (paramilitary) check-post in the North Waziristan tribal area on Saturday.

A convoy of Pakistan army was on way from Bannu to Miranshah, when a suicide bomber attempted to ram his explosive-laden vehicle into the convoy.

Sensing the danger soldiers opened fired at the explosive-laden vehicle which was chasing their convoy in a busy market in Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan district.

As a result the bomber exploded his vehicle leaving 17 people including five children dead. Many people including paramilitary personnel have been injured in the attack.

Following the blast, Miranshah Bazaar was shutdown, while the security forces have cordoned off the area.
