Dhaka, 28 April ( The Bangladesh government on Monday appointed a three-lawyer panel to conduct the boarder guard Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) mutiny and massacre case.

Of the lawyers panel, advocate Annisul Haq has been appointed as 'chief public prosecutor' in the BDR mutiny case and advocates Syed Haidar Ali and Mosharraf Hossain as public prosecutors to deal with the case.

They are expected to get the official notifications Tuesday, law ministry sources said.

Haq has acted as prosecutor in the Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, architect of the independence of Bangladesh, assassination case and the Jail Killings case, which are both still sub-judice in the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member barrister Moudud Ahmed expressed his unhappiness about the ongoing inquiry into the bloody Feb 25-26 mutiny by BDR.

Moudud said, the government is delaying on the probe and has decided to illegally cancel lease on the house to shift people's attention from the issue.

He made the remarks at a roundtable discussion titled 'Two Months of Peelkhana Tragedy, Role of the Government and the Nation's Expectations' at the National Press Club in Dhaka.

The bloody BDR mutiny and massacre left 57 army officers deputed to the paramilitary border guards, seven BDR men and three civilians killed.

The government has three times increased the time to submit the BDR mutiny probe report by the inquiry committee of the home ministry.
