How Prabhakaran’s saga will end ? - A Poll

Asian Tribune invites readers to participate in the survey on the aftermath of Wanni War. The poll will help to gauge the mood of people who are direct victims of LTTE and who kept track of the Tigers’ campaign from a long distance. AT believes that the public pulse will be an important input for the policy planners as they are coming to grips with the post –LTTE scene.

The poll is open to Asian Tribune readers, Sri Lankan’s and Sri Lankan diaspora

The poll is valid for a week only.

It is not going to end in

It is not going to end in the near future till the Tamil Diaspora changes their attitude of racially motivated propaganda. Their propaganda destroys the livelihood of the Tamils in Sri lanka. There is one Television Network and couple of radio networks are brainwashing the Tamil Diaspora. Every Tamil houshold in the UK,France and elsewhere in the west has this Network.Their propagands is against the Sinhalese. These Tamil Diaspoora are not going to go and settle in Sri Lanka. Their second and third generations are here for good. Let them allow the Tamils in Sri Lanka to choose their fate. They have to live with the Sinhalese in peace. If the Tamil Diaspora wants, let them help financially to develop Sri Lanka not to destroy it.
The Tamil politicians in the past created this racial hatred.I have personally witnessed those hatred slogans against the Sinhalese. Youth participation in the political field should have been avoided. It is here Prabaharan and other youths took over from the Tamil poiticians. The result was that they were murdered except Mr. Anandasangaree. I do not see any political vision in Mr. Anandasangaree.
The Tamils in Sri Lanka have to work with the Sinhalese in peace and without hatred. They will get the best out of them.Tamils are in the minority and they should not being in the Tamils from Tamil Nadu and up country Tamils for their support. This creates suspicion among the Majority Sinhalese. What I have not got done by a Tamil have got it done by a Sinhalese. I hope many Tamils would have had this experience.
Thank you

I reflect my days in Sri

I reflect my days in Sri Lanka. In the good old days most of the public servants on punishment transfers went to Jaffna. These officers behaved even worse on this transfer because they knew that they cannot be transferred any further. They set a very bad example of Sinhalese in the minds of average Jaffna citizen. The good officers never went to Jaffna.
Then most of the Tamil men left their spouses in Jaffna and went to study and work in Colombo. They went to Jaffna only once a month or so to deposit his earnings in their family wallets. Then there were other Tamil men who also had another pleasurable side in their life who go involved with damsels in Colombo or elsewhere. But for marriage they only wanted a girl from Jaffna with a fat big dowry in line with Thesavalamai, the un contested custom in Jaffna.
When the smuggler cum lazy boy assassinated the most lovable Mayor of Jaffna then, no body imagined what a mess Tamils will get into. Trying to get rid of the rotten Sinhalese civil servant, they got even a worse choice. And this guy happened to be also a Tamil, and no body imagined he was a Tiger hell bent to suck the blood from innocent Tamilian.
The Tamils expected thriftier, caring person to take over their aspirations. What happened was a sleazy maniac taking the mantle. This guy did not care for anybody.
The children had to give up their studies and take the guns to protect the Tamils from the evil Sinhalese. But the children of the hierarchy did not waste time in the battle field; they passed their exams and had University education.
The money coming in from the Tamil Diaspora due to good will of their own host countries did not go to uplift the Tamil people. It went for war material and comfortable living of the LTTE leadership.
If LTTE did help the average Tamil to lead a more comfortable life by an efficient administration, I would have been a LTTEr myself.

I think there is going to be

I think there is going to be a different kind of 'war' on two fronts. (1)Rehabilitation,reconstruction and resorting normalcy in hitherto conflict-ridden areas and (2)winning the war of words against the pro-LTTE Diaspora who will be waving the Tiger flag until they go to their graves -no matter their dream will never become reality.
