Tokyo Donor Group Explore Further Aid To Sri Lanka

Cololmbo, 06 May, (Asiantribune.com): The Tokyo Donor Group met President Mahinda Rajapaksa today at ‘Temple Trees’ in Sri Lanka to explore the possibilities of giving aid to the Sri Lankan Government in its endeavor to ameliorate the conditions of the Internally Displaced Persons ( IDPs) there, and to discuss the steps being taken to constantly improve their living conditions.

They also discussed ways and means of resettling them on a permanent basis.

The Donor Group consisted of :

Ambassador for Norway - Tore Hattrem
Ambassador for Japan – Kunio Takahashi
Head of European Delegation in Sri Lanka - Bernard Savage
Chef de mission, The US Embassy in Colombo - James Moore
Chef de Mission, The Swedish Embassy in Colombo – Representing the Chair of the EU – Henrik Mungenast
