Another 800 meters remain to liberate innocent Tamil Civilians

Hilary Rajakarunanayake - Sri Lanka Editor, Asian Tribune

Colombo, 07 May, (Asiantribune.com): Army sources revealed that another 800 meters remain on the right side of the No Fire Zone to reach the point where the remaining innocent Tamil civilians are held hostages and to liberate them from the iron clutches of the LTTE .

Troops belonging to 58 Division, engaged in the world's largest hostage rescue mission operation, has captured part of the LTTE built earth bund at Karayamulliavaikkal and further advanced into the ‘No Conflict Zone’, defence sources said.

Infantrymen of 10 Gajaba Regiment who advanced towards Karayamulliavaikkal yesterday,( 6 May), have captured a part of the LTTE built earth bund by the early hours this morning, following heavy confrontation with the LTTE, defence sources added.

Military officials in the battlefront further said that LTTE desperately attempted to stop the advance march of the security forces by launching indiscriminate fire, using heavy weapons mounted in the ‘No Conflict Zone’.

In the meantime, on the right side of the Wellamulli Waikkal area, the 58th Division armed forces have dismantled the heavily mined earth bund.

Military sources also revealed that this was the last earth bund to be dismantled. Once this is done, the task of liberating the innocent Tamil civilians held hostages would be completed. This operation has been going on since last night. The 10th Gajaba regiment and the 7th Sinha regiment are assisting in this operation.

The troops have already removed the land mines and anti-personal mines littered along the earth bund by the LTTE.

Meanwhile sources said that Sri Lanka Army’s 53rd Division is advancing along the A 35 road and the 59th Division is targeting the LTTE in the Mullaitivu – Wadduwakal area.

Sarath Yes, there is

Sarath

Yes, there is nothing that our brave and dedicated armies can't do under the Sun. As they have been successful for the past few months during which they have been able to get more area released from the LTTE grip. 800 meters is just a fraction for them. Our heroic soldiers, Do that carefully and strategically to show your prowess to the whole world.

The entire area is obviously

The entire area is obviously heavily mined and the troops have to inch their way. The prowess of Sri Lanka's armed forces as they march in to liberate the civilians from their diabolical hostage takers, and close in on the LTTE will become the heroic and historic restart for the nation held in the grip of an unrelenting LTTE leadership that even now holds thousands of its own Tamil community victim to its desire to survive.

The LTTE's lies about concern for the Tamil people are fully exposed by the "human shield" tactic which it is using to cling for its last vestige of life. With the LTTE gone, the long awaited opportunities for the nation's North to recover from years of being held enslaved by the LTTE, will begin. There will be HOPE once more for the North, and that means for ALL of Sri Lanka!!

Lesson from Asian Tribune

Dear Administrator: Please accept my apology on the comments by Stefan over the meaningful, well presented article published, based on “Metta” in AT by Chief Sangha Nayake of America – Dr. W. Piyanada, a well known Meditation teacher.

I simply got carried away in my expressions over the observations I had noted during the past over the Ethnic issues of our own Tamils who are only different in their Religious beliefs, Language and Complexion.

Asian Tribune is the most widely read publication on the news media today. This is the very reason I pay close attention to its readership with respect, just as I refer to my Religious books twice a day before my Meditations. Needless to say I remain a loyal contributor of your worthy Publication.

I take this opportunity in studying the comments by Madam Editor of Asian Tribune; dignified references on President Mahinda Rajapakse of Sri Lanka.

A great Chinese saying: “We learn from the Cradle to the Grave”. I am distanced away from the cradle but not far from the grave! Today I learned from you Sir and Madam Editor of your worthy Journal in Sri Lanka.
