New Police stations to be set up in liberated North and East

Colombo, 18 May, (Asiantribune.com): "The Three Armed Forces and the Police in Sri Lanka have taken over all LTTE controlled areas with effect from today. Now we have made all arrangements to set up new Police stations in the North and in the East with a new Deputy Inspector General of Police.

"In addition to the Police stations set up in the East and the North the Police Department will set up another twenty Police stations in the cleared areas", the IGP said.

"We are proud to say that under the leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa the entire Sri Lanka is now under one flag.
Therefore today is a historic day for Sri Lanka", said Inspector General of Police Jayantha Wickremaratne at Police Headquarters in Colombo this morning.
