Sri Lanka President paying reverence to Lord Buddah Rajapaksa surprised the entire nation last night when he joined the ordinary people in the streets of Colombo and participated in the common man’s celebrations on the victory over the LTTE.
He disregarded all security safeguards and joined the ordinary folk in the streets partaking of the traditional 'kiribath' (milk rice) and 'kavung' (oil cakes). The people were dancing around him, some women even going down on their knees to show their reverence and gratitude for decimating the LTTE and sweeping the terrorist outfit.
President Rajapakse had joined the jubilant crowds in their victory celebrations at Maharagama, Boralesgamuwa, Thimbirigasyaya and also at Boralesgamuwa junctions in the greater Colombo area last night.

There are songs being sung over National TV and Radio calling him "Our King Rajapaksa", wishing him "Ayubowewa" which means "May your life span be increased".

It is very devastating to hear that Prabakaran is dead. However, his body shown in International TV doesnt resemble him. But why will the Sri Lanka Government confirmed the LTTE leader\'s body knowing the consequences if he is found alive. It will be more dangerous than to be ashamed of.
Prabakaran\'s initial intention was good but then got into bigger mess and he could not come out of it. His activities,principles,teaching and interaction was deviated from his original objective. The victims were the Tamil civilians. Will the past repeat now; that the Singhalese ill-treated the Tamils 40 years ago. Are they civilized now? Will there be justice, peace and fairness in every aspect especially in education and jobs?
Is Rajapaksa here today, to GENUINELY TAKE CARE OF THE TAMILS WELFARE AND TO ADHERE THE BUDDISH TEACHING STRICLY AS A LEADER....NOT AS A POLITICIAN?
When the Tamil civilians are TRULY HAPPY with their lives and physically and mentally cured (prepared), then only should Rajapaksa announced the national holiday in Sri Lanka in order for the Tamils are to join in the celebration on 20.5.09 (wed.).
IF Prabakran had been ran away to another country and hiding himself, no one will respect him. Now that, everyone will have FULL RESPECT ON PRABAKARAN FOR FIGHTING TILL THE LAST HIS BREATH. Thefore, urge the Head of LTTE Internationel Leader/s to claim Prabakaran's body and do the proper ritual rites in order for his soul to rest in peace.
It is hard for everyone to accept the fact that Tamil leader has died for almost 40 years of war. We have to learn to know and accept what is good and bad and NOT TO SHARPEN THE KNIFE BUT OUR WISDOM. BLOODSHADE CAN NEVER GRANT ANY KIND OF PEACE. IN FACT FOR HARMFUL AND WE WILL DIE INPEACE WITH THE EYE WIDE OPEN JUST LIKE HOW WE DID TO OTHERS. LET US BE MORE CIVILIZED.
Please International countries/United Nation be with us, Tamilian ALWAYS and LEAD US, BLESS US, GUIDE US AND LOVE THE TAMILS NOW YOUR OWN CHILDREN. YOUR ASSISTANCE IS HIGHLY NEEDED ESPECIALLY AT THIS MOMENT.
Anyway, now the whole world HOPE AND PRAY VERY MUCH that there will be some positive changes and vast difference in the Tamils.

The comments by the previous reader is important and true. We have an opportunity here which had been a rare one. How we got this opportunity is not important. Also the history and the greatness of both cultures in the past would also become irrelevant, if we miss this chance to get together and work as a one nation for present and for future. There is a big hope in everybodys mind, for peaceful coexistance. The most important statement with a bright spark from yesterdays presidents speech gives hope and faith. That was, 'Sri Lanka in future will be one nation, there will be no minorities, the only minority will be the people who work against the motherland'. That statement should pacify many peace loving Tamils and Sinhalese. Certainly that was the most impressive statement I have heard in recent times. Lets wait for the grievences and excitements to die, then we can rise again as a single nation.

We congratulate you President and SL forces.You truly showed the whole world what LIONS can do...However I have one requset to make.Please be safe for us.Don't visit every single Temple,road etc.Please please take care of you.Threat is not gone yet.So called international community has gone mad..They never expected to see LTTE leader would go his last journey like this.

They are worse than wild animals. Think of how many thousand innocent civilians were butchered in their sleep. How about all the infants had their heads dashed on walls and brains spilled. How about thousands of inncent civilians got blown into pieces by bombs. How about all the other listless number of victims. Do not make the mistake that these animals are simply your enemy in the battle front. Their bodies should be ground to dust and thrown into the ocean without leaving a single trace. That should be the case for all tiger cemetaries and monuments, Raze them down without leaving a trace.

I don't know where this Salvi is getting such delusional ideas, that the LTTE butcher doesn't look like him and that everyone will respect him for fighting till the last, and for international jokers to claim his body to do last rites and other nonsense. Honestly Salvi do you think a man who brought anguish and suffering to thousands of families could actually rest in peace? What rubbish some people utter, actually I think their brains are half dead maybe. There are no last rites that have to performed at government expense for a serial killer. If any remaining kith and kin want his body they can do whatever they want with it.
Whatever happened in the past to the Tamils is now over. We have to start again as a new nation, with new hopes and plans for the future. By all God's grace and heaven's blessings for the first time in many, many years we have a strong leader with a genuine love for his motherland. As he rightly said, there are only 2 types of people - the patriotic ones and the traitors. If anyone belongs to the second type...they are free to leave our country and join one of those hypocritical western nations (US, UK, FRANCE Etc.) or even India.
