Colombo, 22 May, (Asiantribune.com): Several Sinhala Tigers are to be arrested shortly, on disclosures made by an Army Lieutenant Colonel held in custody for questioning by Police, a Senior Superintendent of Police told Asian Tribune today(22)
This Army Lieutenant Colonel had been in close cahoots with the LTTE for a long time and in their payroll. Whenever the Army units raided LTTE hideouts in Colombo to arrest LTTE cadres who were in hiding, this Army Lt. Colonel had already tipped them off beforehand thus helping them to escape.
Police have been enabled to trace this Army Lt. Colonel by means of his phone number on a cell phone belonging to a certain LTTE leader who had died in the recent battles in the North.
Police questioning of this Army Lt. Colonel is still proceeding, the SSP added.

What about arresting Wickremabahu Karunaratne, Siritunga Jayasuriya, Ajit Rupesinghe (Kumar Rupesingho's brother) Sucharitha Gamlath, Nirmal Ranjit Devasiri, Dharmasiri Bandaranayake, Jayantha Seneviratne, Yohan Devananda,Ranath Kumarasinghe and a host of others who have been clamouring for a separate Tamil homeland in Sri Lanka. Wickremabahu and his associates campaigned for the LTTE cause in Tamil Nadu as well as in Europe. During the 2005 Presidential Elections he did his utmost to prevent Mahinda Rajapaksa from coming to power. Wickremabahu even had the nerve to be a candidate in the recently concluded Western Provincial Council Elections, expecting people to vote for him so that he could promote the separatist cause in the WP Council. Shortly before the election, many of the others mentioned above held a meeting in Colombo to support him under the theme WHY BAHU (Wickremabahu) SHOULD BE ELECTED. A couple of years ago writing in the weekly Sinhala rag Irudina, Gamlath condemned those who paved the way for Karuna to defect from the LTTE thereby seriously weakening the Tiger movement! This scum should be deprived of their Sri Lankan citizenship.
