Prabhakaran is dead: LTTE

Oslo, 25 May, (Asiantribune.com): The Tamil Tigers PrabhakaranPrabhakaranofficially acknowledged on Sunday "with heavy hearts" the death of their leader, Velupillai Prabhakaran, a week ago by Sri Lankan

Government troops. This is according to a statement from the Tigers.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) said: "We announce today, with inexpressible sadness and heavy hearts, that our incomparable leader and supreme commander ... attained martyrdom fighting the military oppression."

The LTTE's head of international relations, Selvarasa Pathmanathan, said that Prabhakaran, "was the heart and soul and the symbol of hope, pride and determination for the whole nation of people of Tamil Eelam."

The statement also added that the LTTE was forced to take on the military of a country that enjoyed the backing of the international community. "Our leader confronted this threat without any hesitation. He would not waver in his desire to be with his people and fight for his people till the end.”

"His final request was for the struggle to continue until we achieve the freedom for his people. His legend and the historical status as the Greatest Tamil Leader ever are indestructible," Pathmanathan said.

Until now the LTTE maintained that Prabhakaran, who set up the Tamil Tigers in 1976 with a view to carve out a Tamil state out of the north and east of Sri Lanka, had not been killed as claimed by the military May 18.

On May 19, Pathmanathan had himself said: "I wish to inform the global Tamil community ... that our beloved leader is alive and safe. He will continue to lead the quest for dignity and freedom for the Tamil people."

Again, the pro-LTTE website Tamil Net had quoted a previously unheard of member of the LTTE intelligence wing as saying that "our beloved leader is alive" and that he would contact the people "at a suitable time in future".

Other pro-LTTE Internet media too have taken a similar line vis-a-vis Prabhakaran although many conceded that some other top leaders of the group were dead.

According to Sri Lanka, Prabhakaran was killed following heavy fighting with the military, which trapped him close to a lagoon in Mullaitivu district in the island's north.

He was reportedly with 18 of his bodyguards when he was killed, with a single bullet blowing off the upper portion of his head.

According to Sri Lankan officials, Prabhakaran has been cremated and his ashes have been thrown in the Indian Ocean.

Born into a middle class family in Jaffna in November 1954, Prabhakaran was 54. He is the youngest of two boys and two girls. He plunged into militancy in the 1970s and built the LTTE as one of the most ruthless insurgent groups.

1000s of books to follow

1000s of books to follow ……

Internationally and locally known and unknown authors like self. Prabhakaren Dead, No Leader; - This is not the name of manuscript I intend in publishing. It will sure be a best seller. Even I will be awarded for my book as ‘the history’s worst seller.’

I have a problem. I take hours to write one page. Needless to say, it takes months for me to add the final word condensing it to less than 1000 pages. No, it is not my waiting time till the next leader appears to write a “forward” on the first page of my book. I will make sure not even one paragraph to be included by Sri Lankan’s President. I have no time for him. The reason being there is no excitement now like the ‘thirty year’ sweep ticket we capitalized for the passed three decades thanks to our Party Leader Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe. Perhaps no publisher would entertain my publication. I care less. I am positive the Boss of UNP will influence his closest relative to get my book a ‘Vijaya’kgrahanya in seeing my book into light. Yet it would be a heavy one.

Our historical relatives sailed from India reaching the golden beach “Thambapani.” It was not a lion that lead his chief minister to the area where folks had been living there. It’s an animal. Prince Vijaya’s minister with his assistance followed this only creature they spotted determining there should be people living there. They followed this well bread animal known as Dog. The translation is “Paraballa” as for them it’s a foreign dog.

This is our history. Hence Prabhakaren still in our memory can easily be related to this first Royalty who gave a royal name, praising it to a ‘Golden beach.’ My spelling is accurate. I did not miss spelt it for ‘bitch.’

The only person I will select to review my book would be SLBC’s great personality Mr. Hudson Samarasinghe.

Sarath It took many days

Sarath

It took many days for the LTTE international relations, Pathmanathan to understand that Prabakaran was dead. He is the one who said that he is safe somewhere in the Island. This really shows that those followers have no either eyes or cognition to realize such a simple truth which the whole world has already has witnessed. This further shows that they have no regard for their leader. Now the memory pertaining to the demise of Prabakaran has faded away from the minds of all people both in and out of Sri Lanka. Now it is pointless expressing any condolence.

Even now it seems some die

Even now it seems some die hard LTTE guys are not convinced that Pirapaharan is dead..may be yes, he may be 'Living among the Dead!'

The proof of LTTE (now

The proof of LTTE (now defunct) lies is here for all to see. The same person who said that Prabhakaran is alive a few days ago is now saying that he died on 17th May. The western backers of these terrorists should at lease now appreciate who is churning out lies to suit their needs instead of coming out with facts as they are.

So are all the stories of civilian deaths through shelling of hospitals and residences by the army also lies? This is the inevitable conclusion one can draw from this subterfuge by the LTTE. The majority of Sri Lankans (including Tamils) knew of the lies broadcast by the LTTE but now it is proven by example "athey caught".
