Construction Industry chamber to host seminar on Procurement Practices

Colombo, 20 September, (Asiantribune.com): Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka is to host a seminar on "Procurement Practices in the Construction Industry" with the view to assist the domestic construction consultants and contractors with the new procurement guidelines introduced by Sri Lanka Government. The seminar is also designed to enlighten the harmonized procurement procedures of multilateral development banks such as ADB, World Bank etc.

The Seminar is scheduled to be held on 22nd Sept at the Ceylon Continental Hotel. This seminar is conducted by the Chamber under its continuous technical upgrading programme to benefit consultants and contractors attached to the construction industry.

Mr. Daya Liyanage, Chairman, National Procurement Agency will deliver the key note address. He will speak on "Salient Features of the New Procurement Guidelines and the Manual."

Resource personnel such as Eng. Jayantha de Mel, Mr. H.D. Chandrasena, Eng. Chrisantha Siriwardena, Eng. Chitral Pandita, Eng. Saliya Kaluarachchi and Eng. Miriam Witana are also billed to make presentations on a wide range of relevant subjects including Introduction to new Standard Bidding Documents of ICTAD, Preparation of Bid Documents, Contract Administration, Issues faced by Constructors in the Preparation of Tenders and Execution of Contracts.
