New Delhi, 20 June ( The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) supremo K Chandrasekhara Rao, KCR to his followers, resigned Friday amidst an open rebellion against his leadership though his supporters have vowed not to let him step down.Only Thursday, the TRS rebels floated a Telangana Vimochana Samiti (TVS) to start a new movement for separate Telangana State. A close aide of KCR, and a local lawmaker, Dilip Kumar is thee brain behind the new forum

‘TVS is not a political party. It is a non-political movement launched to struggle for achieving Telangana State. It has become necessary because the existing parties have failed to achieve the goal’, he told a gathering of intellectuals and academics in Hyderabad.

Saying that it is not possible for TRS alone to realise the dream for Telangana, Dilip said ‘TRS and KCR are not in a position to achieve Telangana now. The policies pursued by him will never achieve Telangana’.

KCR's close aide Habeeb Abdul Rahman also joined the rebel ranks. TRS general secretary and former MLC, Rahman said that the TRS had become a one-man show and a property of a single individual.

He alleged that KCR had sold the TRS tickets for crores of rupees to the individuals who had never worked for the party in the past.
