Pakistani forces continue clearance, search operation in Malakand

Rawalapindi, 10 July, (Asiantribune.com): Spokesman for Pakistan Army Director-General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Athar Abbas said on , that during last 24 hours, extensive search and clearance operation were conducted in Swat and Malakand.

According to the ISPR press release, security forces conducted search and clearance operation in Sakhra Valley, resultantly, three terrorists including terrorist commander Umerzada and a foreigner were killed, while three small machine guns, one sniper rifle and 500 rounds of ammunition were recovered.

A Jirga comprising 300-350 was held by local elders at Toor Mang Darra at Lower Dir in connection with maintenance of peace and expulsion of terrorists from the area.

Security Forces demolished four houses of terrorists in general area Pir Baba Ziarat. The forces raided a terrorists hideout at village Chadhar and recovered three 107 MM Rockets, three 303 rifles including seventy rounds.

An IED exploded near Army convoy moving to Gomal Zam, due to which two soldiers were martyred and five injured.

Reliable sources have confirmed that Baitullah Mehsud is making all out efforts to get a Fatwa from Mufti Abdul Rehman and Mufti Niamatullah of Makeen to announce that suicide attacks against government installations, mosques and madrassas are authorised as per dictates of Islam.
