Taliban’s jail in 50 ft long cave unearthed in northwest Pakistan

Peshawar, 16 July, (Asiantribune.com): : The Pakistani security forces during its operation against militants in Swat valley in northwest of the country unearthed a private jail of the militants in a 50 ft long cave.

Media persons were shown the hidden dens of the militants and were allowed to pay a visit to the said cave which was said to be used for dwelling and as a private jail by the militants.

Heavy ammunition including explosives, weapons, detonators besides foreign currency, ID cards and audio tapes of militants commander Maulana Fazlullah’s speeches were recovered during the the operation.

Meanwhile the security forces have almost cleared tehsils Barikot and Kabal of militants.

The forces conducted search operation at Peochar and killed most wanted terrorist leader of Peochar Abu Laith.

The forces have killed 8 terrorists in a search operation conducted in Zora area of Tehsil Kabal. A security man was also killed and three personnel were injured including a major.

A terrorist commander Ismail, resident of village Goal Sakhra voluntarily surrendered himself to security forces through local nazim.

Locals of village Sandoka near Thana apprehended 3 out of 5 terrorists and later handed them over to security forces.

Security forces conducted search operation at Reema and killed 3 terrorists while apprehended a wanted terrorist Shah Naseer from Satala, Madyan areas of Swat.

During search operation in Aghal area, Chuprial in Swat the forces recovered 7 machine guns with 2 magazines including ammunition, 4 rifles and a pistol; a terrorist was killed during the operation.

Meanwhile security forces continued relief activities, as 15, 0969 cash cards have been distributed amongst the IDPs of Malakand.

At least 677 vehicles carried 2296 families and 122 trucks moved to Malakand..
