IDP’s Handicrafts and Painting Exhibition Held in Vavuniya

Colombo, 20 August, (Asiantribune.com): Handicrafts and painting exhibition of had been organized at the Vavuniya Town Hall by the Northern Province Cultural Department. The significance of the exhibition was all handicrafts and paintings had been finished by the people in welfare villages in the Northern Province.

Concurrently with the exhibition, National united cultural festival was also held at the Vavuniya Town Hall premises as organized by the Northern Province Cultural Department. Both events had been organized under the supervision of Northern Province Governor Major General G.A.Chandrasiri.

The cultural festival items were presented by the students from Niruthiya Nikethana Vidyalaya, Niruthiya Cultural Centre, Rambaikulam girls’ college, Vavuniya’s Tamil central college, Matheena Muslim Vidyalaya and Madu Kantha Maha Vidyalaya.

The events were greatly assisted by Northern Province Chief Secretary A.Siwaswamy, Government Agent of Vavuniya P.S.M. Charles, Province Cultural Affairs and Sports Ministry Secretary L.Ilangowan, District Cultural officer R.Nithyanathan, the organizers say.
