SAARC cultural affairs Ministers conference in Colombo

Colombo, 30 October, (Asiantribune.com): The second conference of the Ministers of Cultural Affairs of the member countries of the SAARC will be held in Colombo today and tomorrow (October 30 – 31, 2006).

The conference of the secretaries of the Ministries if Cultural Affairs of SAARC countries will be held today at the Galadari Hotel Colombo, where they will plan out policies and programmes for the next three years.

The inaugural ceremony of the conference of the Ministers of the SAARC countries will be held on October 31, presided by Minister of Tourism Anura Bandaranaike.

At the conference the Ministers will sign two agreements, one for the conservation and development of cultural and national heritage and another, for the exchange programme of cultural activities in SAARC countries.

A joint declaration will be signed at the closing ceremony to be held on October 31.
