Dr. Subramanian Swamy backs JVP stance of not holding any more talks with Tiger terrorists

New Delhi, 31 October, (Asiantribune.com): The outspoken Dr. Subramanian Swamy, President of India Janata Party, has blasted the Norwegians for engineering and the Sri Lankan government for "agreeing to attend the so-called peace talks at Geneva." He has suggested to "the short-sighted, weak kneed Sri Lankan leadership in Government not to participate in any more peace talks as the JVP insists."Dr.Subramanian Swamy: "The so-called peace talks can have no other outcome except legitimize a terrorist organization,"Dr.Subramanian Swamy: "The so-called peace talks can have no other outcome except legitimize a terrorist organization,"

Dr. Subramanian Swamy is the former India’s Commerce and Law Minister. Earlier, Dr.Swamy was awarded Doctorate of Economics by the Havard University after his joint research with two Nobel laureates. He joined the faculty at Havard and taught economics for about ten years.

Dr.Swamy have been elected member of the Indian Parliament six times. In a statement to Asian Tribune, he says that "the so-called peace talks in Geneva is against Indian interest as well as in the international struggle against terrorism."

"The so-called peace talks can have no other outcome except legitimize a terrorist organization," he says

He adds that the Norwegians do not have a “clue about the real reason for the problem in Sri Lanka.”

Here is the full statement issued by Dr. Swamy:

"The Sri Lankan Government has made a grievous mistake by
submitting to Norwegian pressure and thereby agreeing to attend the
so-called peace talks with the LTTE at Geneva. The so-called peace talks can have no other outcome except legitimize a terrorist organization which the LTTE had been so declared internationally. Therefore it is banned in a number of countries as a terrorist organization.

The so-called peace talks are engineered by the Norwegians who
are for private and pecuniary reasons committed to the LTTE. The Norwegians have no clue about the real reason for the problem in Sri Lanka. Hence to designate them as mediators is ridiculously stupid on part of the Sri Lankan Government.

In any case, since the LTTE is part of the problem and is not
acceptable to any patriotic Indian even remotely as part of the solution, hence the so-called peace talks in Geneva is against Indian interest as well as in the international struggle against terrorism. I therefore suggest to the short-sighted weak kneed Sri Lankan leadership in Government not to participate in any more peace talks as the JVP insists. Instead the Sri Lankan Parliament should adopt a resolution without further delay to replace the present unitary Constitution with federal or quasi federal Constitution that will meet the legitimate aspirations of the Tamil people in the island.
