Pak, India renew commitment to fight terrorism in all forms, manifestations

Islamabad, 01 June, (Asiantribune.com): Pakistan and India have reiterated their commitment to fight terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and emphasized the need for effective steps for the complete elimination of this menace.

This was stated by Pakistani Interior Secretary Syed Kamal Shah and his Indian counterpart V.K. Duggal at a joint news briefing after their two days talks on cooperation to combat terrorism, drug and human trafficking under the composite dialogue here Wednesday.

The two sides also underlined the need to pursue effective and sustained action against the terrorists.

In a joint statement issued on the occasion said the two sides welcomed the release of fishermen by each other on the eve of these talks.

They also agreed to release the remaining fishermen by the end of next month.

Both the countries agreed that fishermen and civilian prisoners, who have completed their prison sentences and have been granted consular access and whose national status has been verified, would also be released by the end of next month.
