Sea Tigers blew up two Sri Lankan gunboats

Colombo, 11 May, (Asiantribune.com): Sea Tigers today afternoon blew up two Sri Lankan Navy gunboats escorting a Navy personnel carrier bringing the ceasefire to the verge of the collapse.

The Sri Lankan Navy personnel carrier, named Pearl Cruiser, transporting 600 soldiers is now under attack by the sea Tigers, Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission spokeswoman said.

“They are attacking the Personnel carrier and lives of our monitors aboard the vessel is at risk,” Helen Olfsdottier told the Asian Tribune.

The first Navy gunboat was destroyed at 4.50 pm and the second at 5. 15 pm today evening.

Meanwhile Sri Lankan Air Force is targeting Sea Tiger boats surrounding the Navy personal career. The Security forces have also launched a coordinated strike at LTTE positions in Monkey Bridge, Kattaparichchan, and Sampur in the East.
