CCI launches “Excon 2007”

“Excon 2007” will be launched under the distinguished patronage of the Minister of Construction and Engineering Services Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, on 13th March 2007 at the Grand Ballroom of the Galle Face Hotel.

The Chamber of Construction Industry, Sri Lanka will host “Excon 2007” during the period 11th to 13th May 2007 at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall and Sirimavo Bandaranike Memorial Exhibition Hall.

Chamber of Construction Industry, Sri Lanka (CCI) being an apex body representing every stakeholder of the construction industry is confident that “Excon 2007” will accrue substantial benefits to the domestic construction industry. “Excon 2007” has been designed to promote linkages among all stakeholders to facilitate enhancement of capacities and competitiveness of the domestic construction industry.

Chamber initiatives in the recent past have been targeted to eliminate industry growth impediments. CCI has taken a lead role in the training of craftsmen and the development of small and medium enterprises in the construction industry in addition to facilitating public private partnerships in infrastructure development and construction related projects. In that context prominent presence at this Trade Fair will undoubtedly enhance participants visibility to all sectors of the construction industry while promoting their products and services to the targeted market..

Speaking to the media CEO of the CCI Dakshitha Talgodapitiya said that CCI expects over 250 participants as trade stallholders - presence of all principal stakeholders and prominent suppliers of construction inputs in addition to substantial participation from the SME sector of the industry.

He said the trade fair will be inaugurated on a daily basis with the participation of a key cabinet ministers relating to the construction industry and infrastructure sector

During the trade fair a number of concurrent events such as seminars, workshops and cocktail receptions are being planned providing opportunities for interaction among participants / stakeholders.
