Tiger gangs attack rival PLOTE members in Zurich: two Tamil in a serious condition

Zurich, 02 May, ( On May Day Tamil Tiger gangsters waylaid and attacked members of the PLOTE organization -- a rival political party -- in Zurich, Switzerland. Six PLOTE cadres sustained injuries and were admitted to hospitals. Two of the injured are in a serious condition, according to hospital sources

Earlier, Tamil Tigers in Switzerland had warned PLOTE members not to participate in the May Day procession. Despite the warnings and threats PLOTE members participated in the May Day rally.

The defiant PLOTE members were unaware that the Tiger agents were waiting for them as they returned from the May Day rally. The Tiger gangsters cornered the PLOTE members and attacked them mercilessly. The attack was unleashed in the Central, close to the Zurich main railway station.

The LTTE gangsters used steel bars, plastic pipes, sticks, small knives and other unconventional weapons to attack the PLOTE members.

According to reports the following PLOTE members sustained injuries:

1. Ranjan – Editor, Athirady news web portal and the head of the PLOTE organization in Switzerland.

2. Sivanesan

3. Siva

4. Vanni Kannan and

5. Mano

6. This person is still unidentified.

Swiss Police rushed the injured PLOTE members to hospitals. Asian Tribune was told by Swiss authorities that Sivanesan and Vanni Kannan are in serious condition.

Swiss police are now searching Tiger gangsters who were involved in the deadly attack on the PLOTE cadres. Police suspect that some of them would have come from a neighbouring country.
