Celebration of Thai Pongal at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in France

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Paris celebrated Thai Pongal on 14th January 2013 with the participation of its staff and members of the Sri Lankan Diaspora.
The Embassy premises was decorated according to Hindu tradition with mango and palm leaves and Kolam designs.
A Hindu Priest conducted “Pooja” ceremony and invoked blessings on all participants.
Ms. W.S. Perera, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. in her address to the gathering reiterated the special significance of the Pongal festival to all Sri Lankans.
