Rio hopeful of NPF prospect in coming election; candidate lists by Monday
Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said he was hopeful that their ruling party, NPF, would do well in the ensuing State general elections slated for February 23 next.
Talking to press on the sidelines of the 64th Republic Day Celebration here at the Secretariat Plaza Saturday, the Chief Minister disclosed that they would come to know by Monday of the final picture of the party as far as ensuing State general election was concerned.
Asked whether the party was setting up their candidates in all the constituencies of the State, Rio said the names of the NPF candidates for would be known by Monday.
Stating that he was hopeful of their party’s prospects in the ensuing elections in the State, he said, “Let us wait till Monday. We will come to know everything by then.”
It may be mentioned that incumbent Chief Minister has to face Congress candidate Kevise Sogotsu in his 11 Northern Angami-II Assembly Constituency.
It is also reported that Rio was given in-charge of ENPO areas with regard to the coming elections.
