Swamy deplores protests against Rajapaksa
Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy has deplored the protests against Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa by Tamil political groups.
Rajapaksa along with a 70-strong delegation is in Tirupati to offer prayers.
In a statement, Swamy said “ I condemn the protest by various splinters group of the Dravidian Movement against the Sri Lanka President Mr.Rajapaksa who is here in India for his religious pilgrimage to Tirupati and Gaya.
“The Dravidian Movement was set up by British Imperialists to oppose India’s Independence movement led by Mahatma Gandhi. Since then all parties have been anti-Hindu and have been uttering blasphemous abuses against Lord Rama.
“The Dravidian Movement political parties such as DMK and MDMK have been acting as stooges of the LTTE, the now defunct terrorist outfit that killed Rajiv Gandhi.
“I therefore demand that the Centre put all those protesting against Sri Lanka President Rajapaksa’s visit be arrested under the National Security Act, and have them investigated if their demonstration is being financed by ISI of Pakistan.
“The Centre should also send a Directive under Article 256 of the Constitution to the Tamil Nadu to provide adequate police protection to Sri Lanka assets in the State. Otherwise the Centre should dispatch the CRPF to Tamil Nadu to do the same.”
