Sri Lanka President just arrived in Sri Lanka

Speaking to Asian Tribune, President spokesman Mr. Mohan Samaranayake told that President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his entourage have just arrived in Sri Lanka.

Spokesman Mr. Mohan Samaranayake told that he also accompanied the President to India and said that Sri Lanka President was received by Bihar Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kuma in the first leg of the pilgrimage yesterday and left for Boda Gaya - the site where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment and which hosts a 1,500-year-old temple, the most sacred to Buddhists worldwide.

Subsequently, President and his entourage left for Tirupati yesterday evening and stayed overnight in Alipiri.

From the airport 15 kilometers leading to the foot of the hill is the town called Alipiri is located for which President and his entourage went by road and today morning they went on motorcade nearly 18 km long hill route leading to Tirumala, the hill abode of Lord Venkateswara.

He added, early morning President Mahinda Rajapaksa participated in the Suprabhata seva – a pre-dawn ritual performed in the early hours. He was accompanied by his wife Shanthi Rajapaksa besides a 70 member delegation.

The spokesman said that the pilgrimage gave moral and mental satisfaction and peace mind to everyone and went on well without any untoward incidents.

Tomorrow morning, President Mahinda Rajapaksa is scheduled to receive visiting Kamlesh Sharma, Commonwealth Secretary General.
