Around 30 people hospitalized as a train rammed into a bus

Colombo, 22 April, (Asiantribune.com):

A train rammed into a bus at Rockland Junction in Beruwela yesterday evening injuring at least dozens of people. The accident had taken place at an unprotected level crossing. According to police report around 30 persons were hospitalized.

Police said that the bus had collided with a train bound to Galle from Colombo near the Magalkanda area between Maggona and Beruwala.

According to a police version, the bus was heading back to Kandy with a group of people after a function when the accident took place.

Around 30 persons who were traveling in the bus at the time were injured and rushed to the Nagoda hospital, Police Spokesman stated.
