What a colourful career!

By S.H.Moulana - Riyadh

A historic team known all over the world and most people can name more players than they can name their own distant relatives is Manchester United.

It once consisted of well-known legendary players like Bobby Charlton, George Best, Peter Schmeichel and David Beckham and many others.

Now, let us talk about the man who managed this champion club for 26 long years, Sir Alex Ferguson; out of the top ten managers in the world he is being regarded as the undisputed leader, followed by Jose Mourinho in the second place.

The hottest news in the world of football now is the retirement of Sir Alex as Manchester United manager, the knighted Scot, who helped the Old Trafford club to win 13 league titles, two Champions League crowns, five FA Cups and four League Cups.

Former Manchester United and England striker Michael Owen has said the Scot’s managerial record will ‘surely never be eclipsed’.

The British prime-minister, David Cameron while paying tribute to this great personality has tweeted; ‘Sir Alex Ferguson’s achievement at Manchester United has bee exceptional’.

Whether you like it or not, there is no hiding the fact that he has left a tremendous legacy to the premier league and world football. It is really hard to believe that he is leaving the Old Trafford Club.

Football fans salute this great Scot for keeping premier league so competitive and entertaining for little over quarter of a century. We wish him all the best!
