President Mahinda Returned Yesterday

Colombo, 18 May, (Asiantribune.com):

President Mahinda Rajapaksa who was on a four-day official visit to Uganda returned to Sri Lanka yesterday morning.

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa commenced his four-day official visit to Uganda - the East Central African country, on May 11th afternoon.

This was President Rajapaksa’s second official visit to Uganda. The last visit was to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2007.

Subsequently, Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni visited Sri Lanka last November.

During the visit, President Rajapaksa held bilateral talks with Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni and delivered the keynote address at the Commonwealth Local Government Conference (CLGC)

2013 held in Kampala, Uganda, under the theme “Developmental Local Government: Putting Local Government at the Heart of Development.”

External Affairs Minister Prof G L Peiris, Monitoring MP for the Ministryof External Affairs Sajin de Vaas Gunawardena, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga were among the Sri Lankan officials along with a business delegation, accompanying the President on his second official visit to the country.
