When fame becomes an unbearable burden!

By S.H.Moulana - Riyadh

We know what happened to that young talent Amy Winehouse at the peak of her career.

She battled drink and drug addiction before her death, by an overdose in 2011, aged 28.

Whitney Houston another outstanding artist was found dead (48) in the bath tub in her guestroom, at Beverly Hilton, in 2012, another case of drug overdose as the postmortem revealed.

Now, we have a reputed male singer in George Michael who has beaten death many times.

He was banned from driving for two years and sentenced to 100 hours of community service in 2006 when he was convicted of driving while unfit through drugs after he was found collapsed in his Mercedes.

In 2010 Michael received an eight week prison sentence following an incident the previous July which he crashed his Range Rover into a shop in north London.

He was also given a five-year driving ban after he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and possessing cannabis.

George Michael has left hospital after being treated for injuries following a bizarre accident on the M1 motorway, recently.

Although his spokesman dismissed the injuries as ‘superficial cuts and bruises’, according to an eye-witness account ‘there was a nasty cut on his forehead and the back of his head. There was blood all down his face and on his teeth’.

The singer was close to death, we all remember, only 18 months ago after being struck down with pneumonia in Vienna, but he fought back to perform again. Michael, in tears, said ‘it had been touch and go whether he lived’.

We wish the 49-year- old singer good health and long life to keep entertaining his fans as he did with his evergreen hits like ‘Careless whisper’ and many others.

We hope the artist’s fame will not bother him as a burden to seek refuge by getting into various fatal addictions.

Let this be a warning to all up and coming young artists everywhere!
