Pakistani Seamen supports Trincomalee Orphanage

Colombo, 01 June, (Asiantribune.com):

The Officers and sailors of PNS SAIF visited a local orphanage to extend their support and care to the children residing thnere.

Utilizing their stay in Trincomalee, a group of PNS SAIF Officers and sailors visited Rehwatha Children’s Home Trincomalee as part of a humanitarian outreach event and distributed medicines, gifts and supplies to the 50 plus orphaned children residing in the said orphanage.

The 123 meter long multi mission PNS SAIF, which is capable of operating independently or as part of Task Force in multi-threat environment was on a good will visit to the Trincomalee port in the 3rd week of May 2013.

The group toured the facility before settling in for spending quality time with children. The Seamen spent 5 hours with the children and connected with many of them. During the event, some group members played with the children, while some sat quietly with other children, talking and learning about each others.

The group also included the war ship doctor who treated the ailing children of the orphanage, while the war ship barber, kept styling and grooming the children.

The Ship SAIF has 14 Officers, 188 CPO’s and Sailors along with Captain Jawad Ahmed TI(M) as the Commanding Officer.

As part of goodwill, Pakistan Navy ships frequently pay port visits to Sri Lanka. These visits are aimed at further strengthening the existing strong relationship between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
