Janashakthi expands network with new Wattala branch

Colombo, 04 July, (Asiantribune.com): Janashakthi Insurance Co., recently opened its newest branch in Wattala, a key Colombo suburban city in order to cater to the growing business opportunities in the area.

The new Wattala branch is computer linked with the head office and other branches in the distribution network thereby providing all its customers the flexibility of carrying out transactions related to their insurance policies from any Janashakthi branch of their convenience. With this newest addition, the company has further consolidated its branch distribution network to 110 island wide including the Northern and Eastern provinces.

Speaking at the inauguration, General Manager Ravi Liyanage said that Janashakthi will strive to take the “lamp of insurance” to every Sri Lankan household and commercial establishment in the country and thereby help brighten their futures and those of others who are near and dear to them.

“Our distribution channels are not restricted to urban and semi-urban areas only.

We even cover the furthest rural points in the country. We have a 3000 strong large professional sales force attached to our extensive network of branches providing financial protection in life and general insurance both”.

He also said that Janashakthi has a unique range in its product portfolio, which is not restricted to the affluent segments only. “We make the benefits of insurance available to even the poorest segments of the low income earners in the society who cannot usually afford to set a side funds for unforeseen eventualities in their lives.

Janashakthi Insurance invests heavily in the enhancement of its distribution channels and in the competency development of its large sale force in elevating their professionalism to internationally accepted levels. The company recently signed up with the world’s largest professional body for life insurance and market research, LIMRA International Inc. (Life Insurance and Market Research Association). The company also produced three MDRT qualifiers to attend the annual USA based Million Dollar Round Table 2007 conference to be held in Denver, Colorado this year.
