Snowden was dead right!

By S.H.Moulana - Riyadh

Edward Snowden, a former US National Security Agency contractor explained to the world why he became a whistle blower and left his country from a job where he was drawing a salary of US $ 122,000/-, according to his employer, in the US.

He said ‘I don’t want to live in a society that does these sorts of things. I do not want to live in a world where everything I do and say is recorded.’

We think even Soviet Union wouldn’t have been up to this trick on its close allies or on its own citizens, during its rigid communist rule.

Can the US still boast that it is the land of the free while it is spying on its trusted and close allies and its own citizens? Then what about its enemies?

The latest we hear this scandal is that 60 million Spanish telephone calls are being monitored by the US every month. These underhand activities of the ‘land of the free’ have kept its ambassadors very busy answering calls from foreign ministries, in the European capitals.

The entire world community, and very especially, the European leaders, owes a big thank you to Snowden.

Wasn’t he dead right when he blew the whistle then!
