Basil Rajapakse to be sworn in tomorrow

Colombo, 18 September, (Asiantribune.com): Basil Rajapaksa is to be sworn in as a national list MP tomorrow. Following the swearing in he is to be sworn in as Minister with cabinet rank.Sources told “Asian Tribune” that Basil Rajapakse is also to be sworn in tomorrow as the Minister of Nation Building.Sources told “Asian Tribune” that Basil Rajapakse is also to be sworn in tomorrow as the Minister of Nation Building.

At present Basil Rajapakse, a Senior Presidential Advisor and formerly the Campaign Manager of his Brother Mahinda Rajapakse’s presidential election campaign, is to fill the vacancy created by the demise of Irrigation Minister Anwar Ismail.

Sources told “Asian Tribune” that Basil Rajapakse is also to be sworn in tomorrow as the Minister of Nation Building.

In the meantime, yesterday and even today, rumors are swirling in Colombo that in addition to the Ministry of Nation Building portfolio, Basil Rajapakse might be given the foreign ministry slot too.

Sources in Colombo told “Asian Tribune” this as ‘a wishful thinking,’ but several Sri Lankan expatriates when contacted told "Asian Tribune" that Basil Rajapakse ‘a real doer’ and he should be also allotted with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
