Kamalendran and other two murder suspects further remanded until 30th April

Colombo, 17 April, (Asiantribune.com):

Today, Selvanayakam Lenin Kumar Kayts Magistrate further remanded until 30th April, Kandasamy Kamalendran, the former Leader of the Opposition in the Northern Provincial Council.

Kandasamy Kamalendran was considered as one of the three suspects in the murder of the former Delft Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Daniel Rexigan.

Earlier, Delft Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Daniel Rexigan (44 years) was found dead with head injuries at his residence in Punkudithivu on November 26.

Today, along with Kandasamy Kamalendran, the other two suspects - Lundan Sasindran and Rexigan's wife Enida Rexigan were produced before the Kayts Magistrate.

As lawyers of the three suspects did not appear in the courts, Magistrate postponed the trial of the case for 30th April.

Earlier, Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers arrested Kamalendran on 3rd December, and he was produced before the Kayts Magistrate in connection with the murder of Delft Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Daniel Rexigan.

For similar offence, on 2nd December Lundan Sasindran, the office assistant of Kamalendran and Rexigan's wife Enida Rexigan were arrested and were also produced before Kayts Magistrate on 3rd December.
