A Job Bank and personnel Search for 1300 jobs in Government Service

Colombo, 18 April, (Asiantribune.com):

: A job bank and personnel search was conducted yesterday at Nelliady, Karaveddy by the Civil Defence Services and nearly 3500 applicants gathered to apply for available 1300 vacancies.

Brigadier Keerthi Rajapaksa of the Jaffna Security Force presided over the personnel search event conducted at the Nelliady Madhya Mahavidyalayam auditorium.

He explained the purpose of conducting the personnel search and told all those present to take the rare opportunity Government has afforded and obtain a suitable Government permanent and pensionable appointment.

He clarified that those selected will be treated as civilian personnel and they will not have anything to do with uniform services.

The Job bank and personnel search was conducted by Harmony Centre and Selva – the organizer told Asian Tribune that though more than 2500 persons – girls and boys have applied for the available vacancies, they have decided to conduct two more personnel search events – one in Jaffna and another in Chavakachcheri before calling the applicants for an interview.

The purpose of conducting another two more personnel search event was to see that youths in the Jaffna districts are given a fair opportunity in their search for government jobs.

The keynote address was delivered by K.T.Rajasingham, Chief Editor of Asian Tribune:

He told that before Northern Provincial Council came into existence, the Governor of the Northern Province G.A.Chandrasri was able to provide more than 10,000 jobs to the youths of the Northern Province.

He said that once Northern Provincial Council came into existence after 21 September 2013 and to date the Council run by Tamil National Alliance has so far not provided even one person an employment in the Northern Provincial Service except a few of the Chief Minister’s men were appointed as coordinating secretaries and advisors - drawing fat salaries and perks.

Mr. Rajasingham said that C. V.Vigneswaran was a retired Supreme Court Judge and the Tamils expected ‘much’ from him but he too has turned out to be another common political leader.

Mr. Rajasingham said that the Jaffna voters should have analyzed those statements he made during the election campaign of removing the Military from the Northern Province and getting back to the people their lands in the High Security Zone in Jaffna.

“Unfortunately”, Mr. Rajasingham said, “People have failed to analyze whether it could be possible by Vigneswaran to fulfill such pledges? Whether he has any magical wand to do so while being in the opposition?” If the people would have analyzed whether there was any possibility for him to do so, then no one would have voted for him and to his TNA. It was unfortunate that since 1948 Tamil leaders are playing on the word ‘Tamil Nationalism’ and so far have fooled the Tamils. The same tactics was being adopted by Vigneswaran too. Though he was a retired Supreme Court judge he has started behaving like another politician.”

He thanked the Harmony Centre organizers to arranging this wonderful job opportunities – permanent pensionable job opportunities to youths of the Jaffna peninsula and advised those youths present to grab the lovely opportunity, the God sent one.

Following his address applicants met the counsellors and began filling application forms for suitable employment.
