Kamalendran continues to receive remand sentences

Colombo, 25 June, (Asiantribune.com):

Kayts Magistrate Selvanayakam Lenin Kumar further remanded Kandasamy Kamalendran, who was a former EPDP stalwart and Leader of the Opposition in the Northern Provincial Council and also Lundan Sasindran and Rexigan's wife Enida Rexigan, until 8th Juy, when they were produced in the courts yesterday.

Yesterday, the murder trial of Delft Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Daniel Rexigan came before the Kayts Magistrate S. Lenin Kumar for trial.

Earlier, Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers arrested Kamalendran on 3rd December in Colombo and his office assistant Lundan Sasindran and Rexigan's wife Enida Rexigan on 2nd December, in connection with the murder of Delft Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Daniel Rexigan and produced them before before the Kayts Magistrate on 3rd December.

Delft Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Daniel Rexigan (44 years) was found dead with head injuries at his residence in Punkudithivu on November 26.
