FIFA World Cup 2014 Final: it is Argentina Vs Germany

By our sports correspondent…

Argentina beat The Netherlands on Wednesday 4-2 on penalties to reach the final of the FIFA World Cup.

As the first 90 minutes of the game ended up without a single goal being scored from either side, the fears started growing in the South American camp that the trophy was about to out of reach for the inhabitants.

Neither the last minute tip from the Argentinian manager nor the inspirational lead from Lionel Messi could break the ice during extra time, which in turn propelled the game into the dreaded phase of penalty shoot-outs.

Argentinian fans may have been nervous due to the way Brazil was routed by Germany

Judging by today’s performance, Argentinians have to be more combative, if they are to take on formidable Germans during the final. They have just three days left to get their acts together before playing against the strong European side.

The Germans displayed on Tuesday how a combination of elegance and techniques can inhibit the progress of the veterans of the game in the track.

Germany and Argentina will play on Sunday in Rio de Janeiro in the final.
