Rishad's Eastern MPs cross-over, Rishad still with the government

Colombo, 25 November, (Asiantribune.com):

3 Eastern Provincial Council members belonging to Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiutheen's ACMC have decided to be independent in the council from 25 November.

The ACMC Leader Minister Bathiudeen has stressed to Asiantribune that this is not a total crossover by himself or by his party to opposition.

"My members in Eastern PC have forwarded some demands from the provincial council long ago and have been pressing for them without any success. Finally, we, ACMC, have given the council an ultimatum -that we want the issues to be resolved by 24 November, failing that, they would sit independently. Since we did not see any results by 24th, we sat independently. This decision has nothing to do with the current political developments in the country. I and my party will continue to be part of this government and will work for its victory."
