Presidents Return After His Tirupati Pilgrimage

Colombo, 11 December, (Asiantribune.com):

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Wednesday offered worship at the famous hill shrine of Lord Venkateswarain the wee hours near here.

After offering prayers late in the evening Tuesday and again participating in the pre-dawn 'Suprabhatam' stanza recitation ritual conducted by a group of priests inside the ancient temple ritual on Wednesday.

Subsequently President Mahinda Rajapaksa returned to the island this morning (10) after conclusion of his one-day pilgrimage to Thirupathi.

Earlier, President Rajapaksa Tuesday arrived at the Ranigunta airport, by a special flight.

The President was given a guard of honor on his arrival. He later proceeded to the Tirumala Temple by road.
