Launch of President Mahinda’s election manifesto postponed

Colombo, 22 December, (Asiantribune.com):

Launch of President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s election manifesto has been postponed.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa is reportedly planning in releasing his policy statement for the 2015 Presidential election after handing nominations on the 8th of this month.

President Rajapaksa in 2005 presented the Mahinda Chinthana policy statement and the Mahinda Chinthana Idiri Dekma in 2010.

The latestv policy statement, according to reports, is to be named the Mahinda Chinthana Thun Kal Dekma.

The launch was scheduled to take place today (22) under the auspices of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

According to highly placed sources of the government, the launch will now take place on December 25, barely 12 days before the date of the presidential election.

Meanwhile, Opposition Presidential candidate Maithripala Sirisena’s election manifesto was launched on Friday (19) at Viharamahadevi Open Air Theatre.
