Backstreet Boys rock Kuala Lumpur!

By S.H.Moulana - Riyadh

The long awaited concert of world’s best-selling boy band, Backstreet Boys, took place on Sunday, at the iconic Stadium Negara.

The five piece American pop band vocal group which was formed in 1993 is a hit from the word go. The band’s current tour is known as ‘In A World Like This’.

An undergraduate, Adel, who is attached to a prestigious university in KL and was born three years after the formation of the boy band, however, became a die-hard fan of the group since his childhood.

Soon after the announcement of the concert by the organizers, Livescape Group, way back in March, young Adel resolved that he will not miss this concert at any cost.

According to sources this one night only show attracted a pack stadium of 10,000 fans.

In an e-mail message received from the young under graduate, he wrote ‘I went to Backstreet Boys concert and it far exceeded all our expectations. It was absolutely phenomenal. They sang songs both new and old and all what they sang were welcomed by the fans with thundering roars. The crowd was simply delirious! The band repeatedly expressed their love for Kuala Lumpur and the appreciative audience.’

It is also learnt that the band is going to record a new album this summer. Some of the songs the audience, at Stadium Negara, was entertained with were; ‘I want it that way’ – which is one of Adel’s favorites,

‘All I have to give’, ‘Show me the meaning of being lonely’, Quit playing games with my heart’, ‘Everybody (backstreet’s back) and ‘In a world like this’.

Although the rates of the tickets were somewhat on the high side for few, the concert was a total sellout and highly successful!
