Mick Jagger's soup story

By S.H.Moulana - Riyadh

One of Mick Jagger’s hit number ‘Too many cooks spoil the soup’ came to my mind when I started to read more frequently about Rauf Hakeem’s kitchen cabinet and in fact of our ever enlarging cabinet.

Be assured with the increasing number of new parties in the fray, in August, we are bound to get an even bigger cabinet which will top the century mark, which unfortunately our steady opener, Kaushal Silva, just missed it by a mere twenty runs, in the second Test against Pakistan at Colombo Oval.
Coming back to Mick Jagger, he sang;

‘Don’t change, don’t let anybody change
Well, honey your love is seasoned right for me
Don’t want another man changing my recipe
Don’t want another man loving you
Cause too many cooks damn well spoil the soup’

Doesn’t Mick Jagger’s song accurately reflect the current situation in our country?
Did the change we went for do any good for us, except for a hold up on all the projects in progress and making our capital, Colombo, dirty again?
