In his welcome speech Professor Greenaway said ‘Graduation is a unique occasion, not only for those of you who will see the fruits of your time at our University formally rewarded today, but also for your proud families and friends, who have made such a pivotal contribution to your success. Because it is a very special day, it is appropriate we mark it with some ceremony and I do hope the event is a memorable as well as enjoyable. I hope you have a wonderful day and wish you every success in your future career.’

Among the graduated students in various fields there were a fair number of Sri Lankan students who have done exceptionally well in whatever field they selected.
