Has Arjuna Mahendran left the country?

Colombo, 28 October, (Asiantribune.com):

Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran had fled the country yesterday evening, Joint Opposition MP Ranjith Zoysa told Parliament yesterday.

Participating in the debate on regulations of National Fisheries and Aqua Resources Act, the MP said:

"Mahendran has left the country hours before the COPE presents its report on an investigation into the Treasury Bond Scam, to Parliament. This indicates that he knows he has been found responsible for the loss to the nation suffered because of the treasury bond sale by the Central Bank under his watch.

"Mahendran has left the country to Singapore. Our airport authorities do not have powers to stop him leaving the country because he is a foreign national," Zoysa said.
