Sri Lanka Envoy to Turkey Pakeer Amza Praises ‘Tamil Tigers’ Debt to America’

Colombo 28 November (Asiantribune.com):

Sri Lanka’s ambassador to Turkey Pakeer Mohideen Amza, in a communication to the author Daya Gamage, commending him for bringing out a ‘timely product’ remarked he was “amazed the wealth of knowledge so far I gathered from the book and highly impressed the analytical skill that you possess.”

Mr. Amza seems to have highly taken up with the newly-released book Tamil Tigers’ Debt to America: US Foreign-policy Adventurism & Sri Lanka’s Dilemma.

The book was released early this month in the United States by Create Space, the publishing house of AMAZON. It is available for purchase at AMAZON. The description of the book can be learned from the book web site tigersdebtusa.com
.
The ambassador, a career diplomat who was previously assigned to the European Union, noting the theme of the book said “Further it stresses the importance of understanding the nuances that are required when dealing with powerful countries.”

The book deals with the issue how Washington created a conducive atmosphere through its foreign policy deliberations lifting the professional operatives, who for decades provided material support to sustain the Tamil Tiger (LTTE) movement’s militarism to gain an independent state for the minority Tamils in Sri Lanka, within the Tamil Diaspora to a respectable global position to replace the 2009-vanquished LTTE to exert political-diplomatic pressure to take Sri Lanka to the UN Human Rights Commission in Geneva and possibly for war crimes at ICC in The Hague.

The book provides evidence how Washington ‘contemplated’ to save the Tiger leadership during the final weeks of the battle to remove from the island of Sri Lanka, the author interprets as a move to use it as a pressure group to effect changes in the body politic of this South Asian nation.

“I am amazed the wealth of knowledge so far I gathered from the book and highly impressed the analytical skill that you possess”, commending author Daya Gamage’s unique presentation in the book.

He further commends the author for dedicating the book to Kanapathipillai Thambirajah Rajasingham, who is the Editor-in-Chief of this online daily newspaper Asian Tribune commenting “I also want to congratulate you for your decision to acknowledge the services rendered by KT for his battle all these years against the LTTE brutality. As I am someone known him from my Chennai days his contribution in portraying the LTTE atrocities is second to none”.
