Iran's Nuts Exports Hit $2bln

Tehran, 10 January, (Asiantribune.com):

The volume of nuts exported from Iran has considerably increased in the current year as compared with the previous year, official statistics showed.

The value of Iran's annual export of nuts to 50 world countries, including Germany, France, the US, Britain, Italy, Spain and Sweden hit $2 billion, the statistics said.

The announcement came as the 4th International Exhibition on Nuts, Dried Fruits and Related Industries in underway in Tehran.

The international exhibition not only paves the path to introduce capabilities of these industries but also provides proper grounds for turning the event into a regional center for dried fruit.

Underway from 06 January to 09 January, 2017 in Tehran Permanent International Fairground, the 4th Intl Exhibition on Nuts, Dried Fruits & Related Industries will be introducing the potential and actual capacities of the country, in field of production, trading and relevant services to the nuts and dried fruits industry, including production, marketing and producing services, machineries and equipment related to the industry.

In a relevant development in mid-December 2015, it was announced that Iran has set up a special work group to boost exports of its agricultural products to different world countries.

Iranian Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines, and Commerce Valiollah Afkhamirad said that the work group had been formed in line with accelerating broadening trade and economic relations between Tehran and world countries, specially in agricultural fields.

He said that the work group comprises experts of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Iranian Trade Promotion Organization.
