Swearing- in of Sasikala on hold?

Chennai, 07 February, (Asiantribune.com):

Amid reports that VK Sasikala could take oath as Tamil Nadu's new Chief Minister tomorrow, the Supreme Court has been petitioned to forbid her taking office till it decides on whether the 61-year-old is guilty of conspiring with J Jayalalithaa to accumulate vast amounts of wealth far exceeding their known sources of income in the early 90s.

Raj Bhavan sources said the Tamil Nadu governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao has not yet conveyed his date of return to Chennai, as a result of which VK Sasikala Natarajan's swearing-in may not take place tomorrow.

AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala was elected as the leader of legislature party leader on Sunday. The incumbent chief minister had sent his resignation to the Governor on Sunday afternoon.

In the meantime, Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao, on Monday has accepted the resignation of Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and his council of ministers. “I request you and present Council of Ministers to function until alternative arrangements are made,” read the letter issued by Raj Bhavan on Monday.
