Vaiko Listed Dangerous Person

Chennai, 10 June, (Asiantribune.com):

MDMK general secretary Vaiko, who is presently on bail on sedition charges in Chennai, was detained by Malaysian immigration officials at the Kuala Lumpur airport on the ground that he was “on the list of dangerous persons posing a threat to the country.”

Indian politician Vaiko was detained by Immigration Department officers after he landed at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on the morning 9th June and has been denied entry into the country.

This was confirmed by Immigration Department director-general Mustafar Ali.

"Because he is blacklisted from entering the country. That's why he was not allowed to enter," Mustafar Ali told Malaysiakini, without giving reasons for the entry ban on Vaiko.

Subsequently he was deported to India on Friday night along with his secretary Arunagiri. “Mr. Vaiko went there to attend the marriage reception of the daughter of Deputy Chief Minister of Penang State P. Ramasamy.

The Malaysian embassy had granted a visa last week,” a press release from the MDMK headquarters said.

Mr. Vaiko told partymen in Chennai that the officials asked him questions about the LTTE and said cases were pending against him in Sri Lanka. But he denied the allegations.
